Is it The Principle That Matters?

One must question the principle of things when they exist to primarily make life miserable for ourselves and others. Are the cents we save worth the sense of serenity lost in their trivial pursuit? Does haggling over who has more actually give us less? Are those intangibles lost - time irreplaceable, peace, harmony - equal to menial claims we gain?
