Learn By It
If we got wiser before we got old(er) we would sap all the fun out of youth, when time and effort lack the meaning gained with experience. The average person only truly enjoys life twice—first as children, when we don't know any better; and secondly as wiser, older people, when we know better. A lot of the in-between is a matter of running that gets us nowhere, especially if we do not take the time to learn by it.
